Standing proudly opposite Viharamahadevi Park, the Colombo Town Hall is an architectural and civic landmark that serves as the headquarters of the Colombo Municipal Council. Completed in the early 20th century, it was built under the vision of Professor Patrick Geddes. With its stately columns and neoclassical design, the Town Hall remains the symbolic centre of Colombo’s governance and civic pride.
Access is generally limited to public areas and guided visits. Entry into the council offices may require prior permission.
