Perched atop Bahirawakanda Hill, the Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya’s gleaming white Buddha statue stands 26.8 metres tall. Completed in 1992, this meditation-posed monument offers spiritual reflection and sweeping views across Kandy by day, and a radiant beacon at night.
Dawn and dusk are ideal. Mornings offer a peaceful ambience, while evening lights render the statue and cityscape wonderfully atmospheric.
